SPR – Balance of Plant Technician (4 days on - 4 days off)
Lowestoft
Base Salary circa £42,000 (depending on experience) + Shift allowance, 10% bonus and Single Health Care

Our Vacancy:
The BOP technician will support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the windfarm assets (Foundations, Offshore Substation, Onshore Substation, Onshore Facilities). This shall include preventative and corrective maintenance activities, and include onshore and offshore working.
What You’ll Do:
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Ability to assist in reviewing and creating RAMS and procedures.
- Assist HV switching, isolation, earthing under the instruction of the SAP in accordance with SPR High Voltage Safety Rules when required.
- BOP fault finding / troubleshooting – i.e. identification of failure cause and determination of corrective action plan.
- Rectification of BOP faults/failures (i.e. corrective maintenance).
- Assist in the execution of the BOP scheduled maintenance plan.
- Maintaining the general cleanliness of the BOP.
- Inspections and maintenance of BOP spare parts and tools (onshore).
- Requesting and processing the necessary permit to work documentation.
- Assist in the picking and checking of offshore spares and tools to be used in the execution of work.
- Work closely with BOP Contractor.
- Accompany site visitors / SAPs and other site staff in site visits, on and offshore
- Work towards attaining HV authorisation up to Restricted SAP level
- Train to be able to conduct control room operations
- Assist in audits and inspections
- Encourage and enforce SPR’s high safety culture to all staff.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience of working in an Offshore Wind Environment desirable but not essential
- Experience of maintaining electrical / mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Planning and organisational skills
- Reporting and communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environment
- Experience of working with a safe system of work.
- Demonstrate a good work ethic, be self-disciplined and proactive.
- Individual to be enthusiastic and motivated to learn and develop within their role
Minimum Criteria
- Educated to GCSE Level (A*-C grades in English and Maths) or equivalent
- Ability to work on/offshore and at Height
- Ability to use own initiative as well as work as part of a team
- Highly organised and methodical approach to work
- Commitment and enthusiasm for the role
- Positive attitude: willingness to learn, proactive
- Flexibility in working pattern / role
- Ability to travel long distances in CTV in large sea states
