Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to work in our sports office to help deliver a professional and quality sports bookings and administration service to all users of the outdoor sports facilities on our portfolio across the borough.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge in sports and will be accountable for a wide range of administration tasks associated with variety of bookings. The main purpose of this multi-disciplined position is to deliver excellent service to all customers contacting the sports office by telephone and emails, to liaise with customers, partners and internal departments to ensure all booking enquiries are dealt with professionally and efficiently, are run smoothly and that a first-class customer experience is provided at all times.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with good IT literacy and a high level of organisational and communication skills, who has a keen interest and in-depth understanding of sports and the leisure industry with a strong customer focus. You must be pro-active, work well under pressure and be able to work on own initiative and as part of a busy, vibrant, and friendly team. You will have a keen interest, and good knowledge of sports.
Knowledge of different types of sports activities and applicable sports facilities. Excellent verbal skills and confident friendly telephone manner. Proven ability in administration, use of excel and outlook. Confident and competent in the use of computers e.g., emailing, and electronic filing. Ability to manage the financial aspect of bookings, raising invoices and receipt of payment. Ability to work under own initiative and to organise own time and workload to achieve deadlines. Flexible, conscientious, and reliable.

Role Responsibilities:
- The post holder will work closely with the Sports Manager, other Sports Bookings and Admin Officers, Sports Officers on the ground and our contractor to ensure we put customer needs first at every opportunity, treating customers in a fair and consistent way and responding effectively to their enquiries.
- Interact with customers in a manner that exceeds their expectations and delivers excellent customer experience.
- Work closely with the council’s contractor to ensure all sports ground preparations are done in a timely fashion and enough notice period have been given to their team on the ground.
- Operate and administer the LBH&F online sports bookings systems and provide support, as and when required, to the service manager/s and wider the team.

Role Specific Qualifications:
- Educated to college or degree level.
- Sports management qualification would be desirable but not essential.
