Are you passionate about pairing dogs with their perfect companions? It’s such a key part of what we do, and our Adoption Advisors make it happen.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and normally cares for around 14,000 dogs across its network of 21 rehoming centres in the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy and will never put a healthy dog to sleep.

As an Adoption Advisor, it’s all about finding the perfect match. In this crucial role, you’ll bring new families together by engaging prospective adopters, assessing their suitability, and then matching them with dogs appropriate to their circumstances. You’ll also follow up on how our pooches are settling into their new homes and making sure their adopters are coping well with their new furry family members.

As you’ll be the first point of contact for potential adopters, to succeed in this role you’ll need to be passionate about high quality customer service and a confident communicator, who can interact with both dogs and people empathetically. You’ll also be confident working on your own initiative and have some experience of handling dogs. It is also essential that you’re patient and understanding, as you navigate the complexities of matching dogs with potential adopters. A full, clean, manual driving licence is also essential, as driving will be part of the role.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they can find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust and we pride ourselves on our on our staff providing the very best in customer service.
