Job description
Shire Healthcare are currently sourcing a Speech and Language Therapist for one of our specialist clients based in Tyne and Wear. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will support children and young people aged 3-19 with learning difficulties, autism and also pupils who are deaf. This is a full-time, permanent position and is term-time only.
Our client can consider both band 5 and band 6 Speech and Language Therapists for this role.
The role:
- Managing and prioritising a caseload of children and young people with complex speech, language and communication needs
- Delivering individual and group interventions
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Working collaboratively with Teachers and Learning Support Assistants within a transdisciplinary team
The ideal Speech and Language Therapist:
- Holds a relevant Degree/Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Dysphagia trained (desirable)
- Experience of supporting children and young people with similar needs required for band 6 applicants
