This is an exciting opportunity to join our Photography team. With studio photography and digital image processing constantly evolving at a rapid speed, we work at the cutting edge of new thinking and developments to prepare our students for successful careers in the creative industries of the future. The Photography technical resource provides studio photography, still-life, copy-stand, 3D capture and digital darkroom support to students from a range of subject areas that can include, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Jewellery, Graphic and Communication Design, Spatial Practices, Performance Design and Fine Art.
You will create and deliver workshops and provide technical support for digital photography, camera, photo post-production and studio related subjects. You will play an integral part of the technical team, contributing your experience in digital camera work, studio lighting, and the latest emerging and digital technologies. Your role will encompass professional applied experience in post-production for photographic image-making arts. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience across a wide range of technical workshops.
Your role will encompass communicating with stakeholders, timetabling, scheduling, supporting online bookings for resource users, acting as a effective point of contact, and ensuring access to up-to-date and accurate information for students, academics, fellow technicians and other university staff.

We are looking for an experienced, adaptable, dynamic, self-motivated person. Ideally a creative individual with a passion for photography, studio practice and digital post-production, who will relish the challenge of supporting a diverse range of talented and renowned academics.
You will need to be a good communicator, able to explain complex information clearly. You will also be enthusiastic about imparting knowledge to students, and meeting the evolving challenge of image content production in both print and digital contexts.
You will have an excellent knowledge of techniques used for studio photography production for creative design practices, including software and hardware operations, camera techniques, image editing, colour grading and post-production. You will be proficient in the relevant Adobe software (Lightroom/Photoshop), Capture One, or equivalents.
