At the Royal British Legion, we believe in building our potential and have an exciting opportunity to increase capacity within our National Outreach Service, with the introduction of a full time Specialist Services Administrator who have a passion for supporting the armed forces community.

The Role

The Specialist Services Administrator function will play a crucial role in assisting & complementing our National Outreach Service teams to enhance and professionalise service provision and customer experience for our beneficiaries.

You will support the service in the effective operation of the provision of welfare support to the Armed Forces Community, which enables the beneficiary to be at the centre of all that we do.


Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Ensuring the Specialist Services are assisted with administrative tasks. Using strong communication skills to effectively liaise directly with beneficiaries, team members, internal and external partners.
  • Supporting the work of the Specialist Services by organising relevant meetings and providing administrative support to the Team. This will include diary management, taking minutes and checking the progress of actions.
  • Liaising with external agencies such as local authorities, the police, other voluntary/charitable organisations, and beneficiaries to arrange meetings, to make referrals and to discuss support to beneficiaries and to progress case management.
  • Providing administrative support to the casework of the Specialist Services, with direct contact with beneficiaries to ensure verification of service is obtained. Gather, collate, and prepare required documentation from a beneficiary for grant giving and ensuring compliance with the organisations grants policy.

This role is home-based with occasional requirement to travel for training and meeting purposes (travel expenses will be covered by Royal British Legion)
