We currently have a new vacancy within our growing team for a Specialist School Nurse. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about working with children & young people with complex needs & learning disabilities.
You will primarily be based at Castle School in West Berkshire but may be required to provide cover to other sites across West Berkshire, dependant on service need. You will take overall responsibility for the assessment, provision, management, & evaluation of evidenced based nursing care to children & young people (CYP) within the specialist school nursing service, in partnership with the Community Children's Nursing Team. You will provide training to school staff & nursery nurses with agreed competency-based training packages.
For this role you will need to have good clinical & organisational skills & the ability to work independently & autonomously, whilst also remaining part of the wider team. Effective communication is vital with a good knowledge of safeguarding.
Your working pattern will be 08.00 - 16.00 part-time but this may need to be flexible to suit the training needs . You will be part of a wider service including the Community Children's Nursing (CCN) Team West.
Flexible/ part time working will be considered.
