What you'll do
You’ll apply widely agreed software engineering principles and methodologies to design, develop, test and maintain applications and services to achieve the stated business and technology goals within required budgets and timelines.
We’ll look to you to oversee the quality of our work, making sure that it meets the technical standards for all services output, and design reusable libraries and APIs for use across our bank.
Alongside this, you’ll:
- Develop software that's amenable for a greater automation of build, release testing and the deployment process on all environments
- Drive the reuse and sharing of platform components and technologies within the software engineering teams
- Deliver software components to enable the delivery of platforms, applications and services
- Write unit and integration tests in automated test environments to ensure our code's quality
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a background in software engineering, software design or database design and architecture, as well as extensive experience of developing software in a SOA or microservices paradigm.
You'll also have an understanding of how to use industry recognised frameworks and development tooling, development experience in a programming language and knowledge of how to implement programming best practices, especially around scalability, availability and performance.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
- An Agile mindset and evidence of how you've continuously improved your team's processes and practices
- Knowledge of how to help stakeholders turn objectives into value-driven solutions that can be delivered quickly and in small increments
- A focus on outcomes and value to cross boundaries and achieve results
- Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365, preferably in relation to the sales and customer service modules, Power Platform, C#, .NET and JavaScript
- An understanding of how to create quality in your developed solutions through effective coding practices, test-driven development and test automation
