About us
Essex Car Company was formed in 2008 after a decision was made to move from the trade side of the business into the retail side. A family business employing three generations of the same family and over 20 staff. Essex Car Company have built their reputation on customer service with over 30% of the business being 'repeat' customers. We have over 200 cars on our site together with a purpose-built workshop, valet bay & 'smart' repair centre.
The staff bring with them a wealth of experience from across the motor industry adding up to over 100 years of motor trade knowledge and experience.
Most of our staff have been with us long term- an unusual feat in the motor trade so the salesperson you purchase your car from is usually here if you come back to see us. Our workshop staff have been with us since the beginning. We are a 'Highly rated' Auto Trader dealer and a 'Top rated' Car Gurus dealer.
We found fame in 2013 with our own TV series on Channel 4 'The dealership' with over one million viewers and 3 one hour episodes. It featured the day to day running of the business featuring our customers and sales team.
Our cars are priced from £3,000 - £100,000 and we carry a stock of over 200 cars. If we don't have what you want we can usually find it for you. We also specialise in Finance (subject to status) for all kinds of credit ratings and deal with most of the major companies and specialist brokers. Need a warranty? We offer up to 4 years Trading Standards Approved warranty on the majority of our stock with repair centres across the UK.
*What We Are Looking For* We are looking for a car salesperson with some or little experience within the field of used vehicle sales. We have been operating for over 15 years and require someone that is: Personable - It is important to interact with customers and build a rapport with them. Organised- Multiple deals as well as unplanned customers required a level of organisation and self management. Money motivated- It is possible to earn a lot in this job, it all depends on how hard you are willing to work. Targets will be set with varying levels of commission earning potential. Open minded - the industry is diverse, you must be able to adapt and move with it. Time management skills - it is important to keep busy and use the time during the day wisely. Creating time for admin is as important as organising customer bookings etc. Passion - someone that comes across as excited, genuine and interested will sell more cars. We require someone with a passion for cars as well as selling them.
