About the role
At Nominet, you will work closely with other software engineers to deliver new/maintain existing functionality that helps to power the Domain name registry for over 11 million UK and 1 million gTLD websites.

In our Web Development teams, you will work closely with other software engineers to maintain existing features and web-based applications to Nominet’s customers. You will work mainly on Front-End technology using an Angular framework.

Playing a key role in writing maintainable, standard-compliant code in an agile working environment you will use your experience of web development and latest design trends to build modern, attractive interfaces that are industry-leading to agreed service levels.

The essential bits
You’ll need the right technical skills to be successful in this role but we’re equally interested in individuals who demonstrate a growth mindset and a passion for writing clean, reliable, thoroughly tested, maintainable code. This, coupled with strong attention to detail and visual design skills are highly desirable.

About you and your experience
We are looking for a team player with a keen eye for detail, who has a solid understanding of:
  • JavaScript
  • Angular (good knowledge of other modern JavaScript frameworks will be considered too)
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • GIT
  • and responsive UI’s

It would also be desirable to have a good understanding of Java as this is the languaged used on the backend.

This is a team that truly punches above its weight in terms of output, you’ll be joining peers that work in a small collaborative environment, where working as one and knowledge sharing is key. You will work closely with other software engineers on web-based applications to Nominet’s customers, so experience of delivering work based on internal feedback and features is useful.
