We are already serving billions of requests per day on the most cutting-edge scenarios and models across the company. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer II to join our team. You will be joining the Inference team that is working on the next generation of model serving that includes hosting OpenAI models like ChatGPT, hosting models at Bing and Office at scale and many exciting problems on the intersection of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Cloud. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer II who is excited about designing and building highly reliable, available platforms to support model inferencing at scale. You will also be expected to work on high throughput/low latency scenarios and drive performance optimization capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Engage directly with key partners to understand and implement complex inferencing capabilities including managing large scale multi-tenant inferencing platform.
- Anticipate, identify, assess, track and mitigate project risks and issues in a fast-paced startup-like environment.
- Drive thought leadership, architecture and high scale, complex graph topologies, high throughput, low latency inferencing.
Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java
- OR equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience with distributed systems
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Experience in distributed computing and architecture
- Platform and capability development experience in Azure/Cloud
- Experience in developing low latency systems
- Experience in developing and operating high scale, reliable online services
- Knowledge and experience in Docker, Kubernetes, .NET, C#, Java or equivalent programming languages
- Experience with Machine Learning platforms and frameworks
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
