About the Role
As part of the Sourcing team at ASOS, you will play an important part of helping the Sourcing team uphold the Ethical and Sustainable principles of the Company and ensure that all ASOS OB suppliers are fit for purpose and deliver 'Fashion with Integrity'. This will encompass managing current supplier relationships and supplier on-boarding. Working closely with ASOS retail teams and suppliers, our mission is to deliver a transparent sustainable supply base which can deliver our Fashion with Integrity strategy.
The Sourcing team work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Garment Technical, Procurement and Supply Chain teams. ASOS aims to deliver first to market product with innovative sourcing solutions. We love our customer and take their feedback seriously; we want to ensure we keep them engaged with the positive changes we make. What You’ll Be Doing
- The job of the Junior Sourcing Partner is to deliver the Sourcing strategy and various objectives of the sourcing department in collaboration with the Head of Sourcing
- Supporting Supplier Management
- Supplier introduction, onboarding, development, and ongoing relationship management
- Improving buying and merchandising intelligence including training and updates on global socio-economic factors
- Collaboration with suppliers on cross-costing initiatives and improving visibility of the fully vertical process
- Contributing ideas and feedback to support the continuous development of the team
- Working closely with colleagues at every level from other departments in the business including buying, merchandising, technology, logistics, supply chain, compliance, ethical trade and sustainable fashion
- Responsible for publishing monthly supplier comms to the business
- Working closely with the Ethical, Sustainable and Fabric teams to deliver our fashion with integrity objectives commercially, driving strategic business change and global growth
- Managing a Sourcing Assistant/Administrator.
- Managing and analysing data
- Managing relationships with buyers and suppliers - highlights any issues and works with the retail teams to resolve them in a timely manner
- Schedules regular updates with retail teams on sourcing requirements and supplier status
- Managing relationships with top 20 suppliers within area of ownership - regular updates and an in-depth understanding of the supplier's capabilities
- Manages sourcing projects - ensures completion of projects in a professional and timely manner
- First line approval of new supplier set ups - manages sign off with key stakeholders
- Travel - able to travel on their own on behalf of ASOS
- Attending Sourcing Fairs/ Trade Fairs and providing feedback to be given to the wider business
- Able to check and drive sourcing strategy through supplier roll and quarterly sourcing updates
- Has the ability to run reports and pull together financial analysis, a good understanding of Excel is essential
Who We’d Like to Meet
- A background in Fashion Retail, in a Sourcing or related role
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of supplier management and awareness of global socio-economic impacts on manufacturing supply chains
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Excel
- Flexibility to travel, as required
- The ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of Retail, including Buying, Merchandising, Fabric, Ethical and Sustainable teams
- A passion for the ASOS brand and values
- The ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience of managing and developing a team
