About the role
Creo is hiring a Software Engineer to both support and expand features on our integrated Urodynamics solutions. These products combine information from various sensors to provide reports to clinicians both as part of the unit itself and integrating with hospital information systems.
The product has been on the market for several years but continues to be developed and expanded to support user needs as well as maintenance activities to support any problems that users encounter.
This role would suit an engineer with good self-management skills as they will be working in a small team with significant autonomy in their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Addition of features to existing product codebase (new features primarily in C#)
- Investigation and resolution of software problems for existing product (mix of VB6 and C#)
- Conduct requirements gathering, design, software testing and review of code.
- Engagement with customers to support with integration into hospital information systems and technical support.
- Manage and prioritize features and issues in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders.
- Support integration of drivers that interface with sensors.
- Analysis of customer feedback to identify any software issues that require resolution.
- Work in accordance with regulatory standards and company processes
- Continuous improvement of existing documentation
What we are looking for
- Be able to work with existing code bases and documentation – bringing about continuous improvement where required.
- Conduct software testing when required.
- Able to work independently and part of a small team – self managing day-to-day tasks and dependencies.
- Maintenance and development of software using Visual Basic 6 and C# .NET (including use of Interop to support integration of VB6 and C# elements).
- Experience with MS SQL databases.
- Use of software version control systems (SVN / git).
- Experience managing CI systems
- Experience with hardening and securing Windows systems.
- Experience with interacting with customers for troubleshooting or technical support
- Needs to be flexible regarding all aspects of your job role and give your full support to all
new systems/ideas that are implemented within the company.
- May need to undertake any other duties which may be required, and which are
commensurate with the post’s position within the company.
- Needs to ensure compliance with all Creo Medical policies, procedures and expected standards, including, but not limited to aspects surrounding Quality, Regulatory and Environmental, Health and Safety.
- May be required to travel to other Creo sites.
- Must have unrestricted right to work in the UK.
Desirable additional skills and experience:
- Experience with development and maintenance of safety critical software (preferably a working knowledge of IEC 62304) under a quality management system (preferably ISO 13485).
- Experience with Universal Windows Platform applications.
Education and professional qualifications required
- Degree educated OR suitable equivalent training and experience
