As an SME, we are positioned in a niche area of the water industry, being able to offer our leading Water Network Management System, Netbase, to water operators in the UK and internationally, along with our engineering consultancy, data analytics and field services.
The Role – Software Engineer Apprentice
We are looking for candidates with a passion for pursuing a career in software development to join our team. You will contribute to the ongoing success of our Water Network Management System and grow your knowledge of how commercial software is designed, manufactured, deployed and maintained across the full software stack.
- Involvement in end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle
- Requirements analysis working closely with our in-house domain experts
- Designing, developing and testing software components, APIs, and applications
- Monitoring and supporting operational systems and implementing dev-ops best practice
- Researching new technologies, prototyping, and bringing innovation to our solutions
The Package
As a Software Engineer Apprentice, you’ll benefit from:
- An annual wage of £17,000
- 24 month contract, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm
- We’re based in central Birkenhead, easily accessible with great transport links
- Apprenticeship level: Higher – Level 4 (Higher national Certificate)
- After completion of the apprenticeship, you will potentially have the opportunity to progress onto full-time software positions within the business
Software developer Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard:
- Your training takes place away from your usual location of work and in one of NowSkills’ city centre training venues. If this isn’t convenient to you then NowSkills also provide live online, on-demand online and 1:1 with your subject specialist digital tutor that you will have assigned to you.
- Upon successful completion, you will receive a certification of your Level 4 Software Developer standard.
