About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager who can lead and organise teams in delivering software solutions that meet the needs of our business working within a Digital and Development environment. The Development Manager will play a significant role as part of a wider leadership team working with colleagues to shape development practices, build internal capabilities and oversee delivery of software solutions within the engineering teams. As a Development Manager, you will be expected to understand the business needs and lead team members to support delivery of the Technology Roadmaps. You’ll be responsible for high level resourcing plans, including recruitment and performance reporting within the department.
About You
You will be passionate about developing effective teams of skilled professionals providing direction and coaching of agile working practices. You will build strong relationships with peers and other colleagues working to common purposes from within the Digital and Technology function and the wider business. Having experience of working in an agile software development environment and have a strong understanding of technologies used. Possessing the confidence to provide appropriate challenge to create opportunities for improvement, identifying and managing risk.
You will have an analytical approach and have experience of evaluating capability needs and suitability of initiatives against the strategy. Being exceptionally well organised to drive a high standard of output for yourself and team. You’ll ideally have experience from the Financial Services industry or a heavily regulated sector. You will have the ability to challenge effectively and constructively, whilst driving best practice, both personally and with your colleagues, ensuring clear, well-informed and focused presentation of output to key stakeholders and clients at varying levels. We are looking for an excellent leader, communicator, innovative and self-motived, with a positive approach to team work.
