Senior Software Developer
Our client is looking for highly skilled Software Developer to join their London team.
The role
Working closely with new business origination and Finance, you will analyse, problem solve, design, document and implement solutions to improve current products and processes. You will deliver our tools with an excellent software development lifecycle that is efficient, robust and easy to use. You'll also need to support the end users of our products in business hours, including assisting with communication and training for users and providing support on live cases.

Our team is seeking individuals to help drive efficiency in Retirement Solutions through use of existing and green-field technology. As a result, we have a phenomenal opportunity to join our team at an exciting time, as we shape our proposition and the way we work to support our growth ambition:
- Experience of software development in C# and Python is a key requirement, together with a strong understanding of a wide range of other technologies such as SQL.
- Experience with modern design patterns and approaches in delivering and supporting robust software solutions.
- Experience with source control, CI/CD automation and testing frameworks.
- Experience with cloud-based compute and storage services such as Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions, AWS (Amazon Web Services) S3 and Azure Storage.
- Strong understanding of the core principles of networking and application protocols such as TCP, IP, HTTP and HTTPS as well as use of Application Programme Interfaces.
- You will ideally have experience in financial services, but it is not a necessity.
- You'll develop new tools and models and enhance and maintain the existing codebase.
- You'll work closely with the new business pricing team to identify current processes which can be improved and contribute to the high-level. roadmaps of our products
- The ability to clearly communicate and work closely with users as part of an agile team.
- Experience of testing business and financial model developments.
- You'll maintain and develop appropriate test / regression packs to ensure good code coverage and robustness of the review process for tool releases.
- You will support the end users of our tools, including assisting with communication / training for and providing desktop support on live cases.
- You will help the team understand our software through knowledge sharing and documentation, to remove any key person risk and encourage ownership
- You'll frequently collaborate with the wider team to drive a culture that creates an enjoyable work environment where the team is proud of the outcomes we achieve
- You will be self-aware with the desire to exceed expectations and demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges and determination to deliver results for the business.
