Head of HR- Health and Adult Services
Salary: £65,444 - £73,755
Location: County Hall, Northallerton / Hybrid
Hours: 37 – Established
We are looking for a driven, strategic and ambitious HR leader to join us in the role of Head of HR for Health and Adult Services.
It is an exciting time for us – in 2023 we have created a new Council to serve North Yorkshire residents, geographically the largest in the country, and the 3rd largest Unitary Council in the country. This has unified and transformed our services at scale with now over 10,500 staff.

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive for HR and Business support, you will be part of a strong HR senior leadership that is well respected and ambitious for the future.
This senior HR leadership role specially supports Health and Adult Services for North Yorkshire Council, this service supports people and their families when they are in the
greatest need of support and the service having the right HR support in place is vital to their success. You be part of the Health & Adult Service (HAS) directorate leadership team, strategically leading workforce solutions to health and social care, both for the Council and the wider sector.
You will be successful in this role as …
- An experienced and capable workforce solutions leader with the ability to ensure that our current and future workforces meet service demand
- An effective embedder of corporate HR policies and strategies and a promotor of excellence.
- A strong people manager capable of leading a team of HR Business Partners,
- A natural collaborator, working with HR colleagues to ensure consistency of approach across North Yorkshire Council
- A strategic partner, forming strong professional relationships, hold influence providing support and challenge, to drive solutions and transformation.
