Software Engineering

Havant, Westbury

This is a Level 6 Apprenticeship role involving one day per week at university. This role pertains to positions at our Training and Logistics Solutions business in Westbury and our Integrated Systems business in Havant. Positions may involve remote working to varying degrees.

The successful candidate with have an interest in Software Engineering and a basic understanding of the aspects that it entails. They will have a keen interest in how things work and be motivated by creating software solutions for challenging problems.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for tasks as assigned by the Software Lead. The Software Engineer will report to the Software Engineering Manager.

Duties include:

• Working with other engineers to analyse requirements.
• Involvement with design of software under guidance.
• Develop software according to requirements and department processes.
• Supporting colleagues throughout development, testing and system acceptance phases.
• Working within the team to support technical investigations of problems.
• Reporting progress on work verbally and through on-line tools.

The candidate will be exposed to several disciplines (Systems, Software Engineering, Integration & Test, and Infrastructure) and will work on all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
