This role is available immediately on a permanent basis. Although this is a full-time role, we welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours, (minimum of 0.8 FTE, 29.2 hours) or job-sharing arrangements. Other flexible working arrangements will also be considered.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working with an expectation of 2 days per week presence on campus.

The Opportunity
We currently have a vacancy for a talented HR professional to join our HR Advisory team. The focus of the role will be to provide comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice and support to line managers and employees across the University on all aspects of HR. Working alongside our HR Partners and Senior Partners, you will play an integral role in helping our managers drive high performance and positivity across their teams while ensuring a key focus on staff health and wellbeing. Key aspects of the role will include:
- Being a pivotal point of contact for line managers for advice on day-to-day staffing matters.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with leaders across our academic and professional services communities.
- Developing a strong working knowledge of University HR policies and procedures, and be confident in providing clear and accurate advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Working with colleagues across HR to ensure effective management of key HR processes. This will include advising on employee relation casework, referring employees to the Occupational Health Service, supporting at end of probation hearings and more.
About You
We are looking for people with:
- Proven, recent experience of working in a fast-paced generalist HR role (to include advising on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues etc.) in a complex organisation.
- Resilience and the ability to work well under pressure. You will have a proven ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own work effectively in a demanding environment.
- The ability to work effectively with others in a team environment and able to act with diplomacy in sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
