Job description
An experienced Production Manager is being sought for a family-owned storage, fulfilment and distribution company in Coleford. The company is an established service provider to UK greetings card, stationery and gift publishers.
The Background:
The company, which has been operating for over 30 years, manages a large and flexible multi-level warehouse, which incorporates bulk pallet storage, pick face shelving and an order packing / product assembly area. The operation is managed by a bespoke warehouse software system.
Following a review of the business, the senior management team has recognised that, in order to maintain its competitive advantage, there is a requirement to overhaul its systems and processes to meet the challenges of the market going forward.
The Role:
- Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for:
- ensuring that all aspects of the warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently
- maintaining the accuracy of stock levels and ensuring that product availability meets demand
- reviewing workflow and make suggestions for improvements to the senior management team
- Providing training and support to the warehouse team in general
The Person:
The successful candidate will need proven experience in a fast-paced production environment having an advanced level of knowledge in Microsoft excel as well as being proficient in other MS applications alongside being responsible for managing production operatives and a network of external workers.
You will possess excellent people management and communication skills. Other core competencies will include:

Working Hours and Rate of Pay:
- Monday to Friday 08.00 - 17.00 (Some overtime may be required at peak periods)
- £12.00 - £14.40 per hour (Depending on experience)
