Are you an experienced and hard-working Social Worker looking to develop your career?
We are looking for an experienced, confident, enthusiastic, child centred and hardworking Social Worker to join the countywide Children’s Adoption Team.
Children in Cumbria who have a plan of adoption deserve the best placement and we're looking for the right person to help us make that happen. This is a fixed term post at this stage and we are looking for a strong candidate to join us and contribute to making a real difference to the safety and well-being of children in Cumbria.

Our Team
The Team is a County wide team responsible for the progression of children’s; plans for adoption. We are a friendly and supportive team, and we have a strong emphasis on training and service development.

The Role
The team works with children with a plan of adoption countywide. You will work closely with the Children’s care planning teams also with the Adoption teams to ensure children with a plan of adoption can live in their permanent family at the earliest opportunity.
We are looking for a highly capable practitioner who can meet deadlines and has good assessment skills and skills in working directly with children, using active listening and observation to build relationships. As a key member of the team, you will also share skills and in-depth knowledge with other professionals and stakeholders, supporting and delivering the best outcomes.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has at least 3 years post qualifying experience with a strong knowledge of Adoption work. You will work as part of a team which together covers the whole of Cumbria.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s/Adults Barred List check.

Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults and/or Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults and/or Children.
