Autism Support Worker
£80 - £90 PAYE

I am seeking actors passionate about SEN and making a positive change in student’s lives!
As an Autism Support Worker, you will be supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including but not limited to Autism, Social and Emotional Mental Health, Severe and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)

What do I need?
- Experience working with Theatre in Education (TIE) or drama workshops with children and young people
- Genuine personal interests in supporting children and young people with additional needs
- A positive, proactive and patient can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff members
What will I be doing as an Autism Support Worker?
- Supporting children with Autism/ASC, complex needs and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
- Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social and emotional well-being of the pupils
- As an Autism Support Worker, you will have to actively interact with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
- Some of our students are non-verbal and have many learning difficulties. A multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists, support students. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users.
- Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs is ideal
- Personal Care (feeding and toileting) and hydrotherapy are required as this is a part of the job
