• As a Part-Time Youth Support Worker in our College SEN (Special Educational Needs) program, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs.
• This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals and contribute to their personal and educational development.
• This position is starting in September and requires availability from Tuesday to Friday (2 days minimum).
• The college is very flexible but 3-4 days a week are preferred.

• Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs within the college setting, assisting them in achieving their educational goals.
• Collaborate with the college staff and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their specific needs are met.
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials, as necessary, to accommodate their learning styles and abilities.
• Assist students in developing social and life skills, promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students, encouraging their participation and engagement in college activities.

• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.
• A genuine passion for working with young people with SEN and complex needs, and supporting their personal and educational development.
• Knowledge of different learning needs and strategies to accommodate them, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt approaches and techniques to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in special education, youth work, or related fields are desirable but not mandatory.
