An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Social Worker to join the Amber Valley North Prevention and Personalisation Team. We welcome applications from both experienced, newly qualified or returning Social Workers.
We are a very busy team, working predominantly with Adults over the age of 18 years who are experiencing challenges in their life. We also work with young people who are transitioning from Children Services into Adulthood.
It is pivotal that you have good knowledge of the legislation and associated guidance utilised in Adult Care, mainly the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake Care Act 2014 assessments and support Plans where applicable. Safeguarding enquiries will also be required therefore a good understanding of this is essential to success.
Mental Capacity Act 2005 assessments and best interest decisions where appropriate will be required. Adopting a strength based and person centred approach is critical to achieving more positive outcomes for individuals.
Excellent communication skills are key for achieving good outcomes for clients and their carers/ family. Good communication is also critical to achieve positive engagement with our NHS colleagues and other partners.

We offer a robust induction, which involves shadowing experienced staff, monthly supervisions and Team meetings to help develop knowledge and skills.
