Job description
Association for Community Living Virden is a non-profit agency providing support for adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. The majority of the people we support live in homes provided by our agency. We provide several different services that include Residential, Day Service, Recreational, workplace accompaniment, personal care assistance, etc.
Please note that ACL Virden does not provide housing for Staff. We are located 300 km west of Winnipeg, near the Saskatchewan border.
We have an immediate openings for Full Time and Part Time Residential Support workers and for those interested in picking up shifts on a Casual basis
Full Time Support staff work a rotating schedule of 4 day shifts (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.), 2 days off, then 4 evening shifts (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and 2 days off.
Part Time Support staff work a rotating schedule of 4 days shifts (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.), 2 days off then 4 evening shifts (3 pm to 9 pm) and 2 days off.
There is the opportunity to pick up extra shifts and overtime shifts as well as overnight sleep shifts. Overnight sleep shifts are paid at minimum wage.
Applicants should be responsible, motivated problem solvers who have the desire to work in a field that is both rewarding and allows you to constantly learn. A criminal record check, valid drivers licence and adult abuse registry check is required. Applicants must possess good oral and written English language skills and must reside in Canada.
All necessary training is provided. Starting wage is $17.00 per hour which will increase to $17.50 after 6 months and to $18.00 after one year of employment with yearly increases of $1.00 per hour thereafter. Applicants with experience may be started at a higher pay rate.
