BAT UK IS LOOKING FOR A SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING SPECIALIST
FUNCTION: Marketing
SUB FUNCTION: Consumer Experience
CITY & COUNTRY: LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: minimum 2 years of Social Media Marketing
ROLE SUMMARY
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
The Social Media Marketing Specialist will be in the digital and media team with focus on social media and talent marketing to support the overall 2024 activation objectives. They will be responsible for developing and deploying the content strategy and create content for Vuse UK, Vuse Ireland and Velo UK Instagram pages to drive awareness, education & brand love.The specialist will also be responsible for driving our influencer marketing efforts for Velo including selection of talents, talent management and fostering positive relationships with them to create true brand ambassadors and help achieve our awareness targets.
We have strong focus on data and performance analysis in the team and all recommendations are based on data and learnings. Hence the specialist is required to do ongoing performance analysis of social media channels and talent activations to base recommendations for talent & content strategy on.
Strong project management and collaboration skills are required as the person in this role will be working with a vast number of stakeholders and will be responsible for the day-to day management of our internal agency BEAT.
What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?
The social media marketing specialist directly impacts our awareness targets for the business with SoMe and talent activation. The work also impacts insights data captured by Kantar – grow awareness and a positive perception of the brand.
Reports to: Frederikke Pedersen – Consumer Experience Manager, digital & media
Core Relationships:
Internal – UK consumer experience team, brand teams, E-com & CRM teams
External – Agencies
Working model: Hybrid work - In the office min. 3 days a week

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Social Media content strategy & content creation – grow our SoMe accounts to increase awareness
- Talent strategy & management – Grow awareness & foster true brand ambassadors
- Own and manage the day-to-day relationship with our agency BEAT
- Contribute to planning and organizing our key partnerships Tomorrowland Festival & Mclaren F1 races
- Weekly data capture and monthly performance analysis

Monitor competitor activity and brainstorms potential improvements or changes in marketing strategy, products, and/or services
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
ESSENTIAL
Experience Required
- A native social – keeps up to date with trends on social and understand how to make an impact through content
- Strong project management skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Strong people skills - good at fostering positive and lasting relationships
- An agile, creative, and collaborative working style
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Understands how to effectively manage agencies and collaborate with other departments
- Excel, Power point, Microsoft outlook
BENEFICIAL
- Digital capabilities or experience within Business Intelligence and Analytics are considered an advantage
- An advantage if the candidate has experience with Sprinklr & Instagram insights
- Experience with Hype audior & traackr
