Job description

Tyson Riggers are a family run business that has been operating for 40 years. Tyson’s supplies and exports wire ropes, synthetic ropes, chains and ironwork all around the world. They are looking for a warehousing apprentice who will be able to join their company and progress within their role to learn about riggers.

Working week
Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:00pm (45 minute lunch) Friday 7:30am – 3:00pm

Total hours per week: 36.5

What will the apprentice be doing?
· Picking and packing of items

· Unloading containers

· Creating labels for checks and traceability

· Dealing with product dimensions and weight when preparing for despatch

· Dispatching products

· Making up ropes

· Dealing with customers who collect items direct from the warehouse

· Liaise with team members in the warehouse and office.

· Ensuring all products meet the ISO regulation and legislation

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
· Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Standard

· A bespoke programme of technical and vocational training

· Functional skills in maths and English if applicable

The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated work based trainer who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.This Apprenticeship is delivered wholly in the workplace, the successful candidate will not need to attend any weekly sessions at the Grimsby Institute.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
A permanent job with the prospects of progressing within the company and understanding more about Ships Riggers.

This position is a physically demanding job as you will be required to move items in/out of the warehouse. Prior to applying please ensure you are able to get to and from this workplace within the operating hours Please be aware as the first part of the process you will be asked to complete a Learner Form and online assessments in English and Maths. You will receive one to one Information, Advice and Guidance with one of the Learner Engagement Team
