Our Social Influence team are looking for a highly motivated and well-rounded Social Media Manager with a strong creative, organisational and strategic background. This person will be responsible for the social media content and influencer management of a travel brand looking to launch themselves as a true home of travel inspiration in the UK, as well as working with a housing brand to deliver inspiring home and lifestyle content. From time to time, they will have the opportunity to work on other consumer tech and FMCG brands in the business, as well as having exposure to new business pitches.
The brands you will work on will require a mix of traditional social media management, social strategy, and influencer management, so we are looking for a full range social bod with both a keen creative eye and the ability to plan. Experience across the full spectrum of social isn’t necessary, if you can demonstrate the ability to understand the social landscape and have a willingness to learn new skills with appropriate training.
We are looking for confident candidates who are solution-driven, with proven experience in running social media campaigns, who are used to working with a range of social platforms and tools. The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in emerging trends in digital and social and feel confident in implementing these into their recommendations. Prior agency experience is preferred, but we are open to hearing from candidates with relevant experience elsewhere.
About the job:
- You will liaise with the Social Influence team, as well as the wider account team (client services, strategy and creative), providing day-to-day support and assistance.
- You will effectively plan and manage content for your key brands, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will review and edit all content streams and relevant calendars within your client team, escalating to your line manager or department head where possible.
- You will support on monthly or weekly data analysis for your clients, looping into the social analytics team where required.
- You will be a brand ambassador – maintaining the client group’s integrity at all times and adhering to Rules of Engagement document
- You will work alongside the community team to develop, manage and record relationships with engaged consumers or organisations, providing regular updates on activity, interactions, successes, opportunities, issues and challenges
- You will devise and deploy content distribution strategies for the sharing of content to communities and relevant individuals with support of the wider social and strategy team
- You will implement and advise on best practice across your client portfolio and beyond when required, working with your social team to keep up to date here.
- You will be required on a campaign-by-campaign basis to support the team in sourcing, outreaching and managing ambassadors and influencers.
- Get involved with wider (and where relevant, external) agency initiatives to help boost your profile if you wish to do so
Requirements
- Must be able to manage expectations – of the internal team but also internal/external stakeholders/agencies.
- Deep interest in culture and trends and the social landscape in order to develop timely and relevant content.
- Deep channel knowledge of primary social channels (TikTok, Instagram, Snap, Twitter, Facebook), but also an understanding of channels such as Reddit, Discord and Pinterest.
- Ability to self-manage to triage own workload and feel comfortable flagging when you have concerns with this.
- Highly organised individual who is comfortable making decisions and managing multiple workstreams with the support of their line manager.
- A deep understanding of clients’ needs and a proven track record with client management.
- Extensive experience of social media management and content planning
- Experience managing and building communities, including community management.
- Ability to work alongside media agency partners to develop and deploy distribution plans.
- Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of social technologies, platforms and monitoring/publishing tools.
- An understanding of the influencer climate.
- Commercially focused, with good understanding of commercial context for role.
- There is a requirement for the Social Media Manager to be flexible as there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time.
