AJ Connect is proud to represent an award-winning events company that is seeking a Social media manager to join their team on a temporary contract.

The primary goal of this role is to construct and implement an effective social media and content strategy, leading all social media initiatives and content, while managing related digital projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Social Media and Content Management

  • Devise and implement strategic use of all social media channels to bolster marketing campaigns and the wider objectives of the organisation.
  • Lead, manage and enhance all social media channels to increase followers, engagement and drive traffic to the company’s website.
  • Monitor and steer the engagement of the company’s online communities through relevant and compelling content.
  • Oversee the social media content schedule across all channels, ensuring the promotion of the Marketing and Communications team's campaigns and other departments' work.
  • Collaborate with the Digital & Campaigns Manager and external agencies on paid social advertising for a coordinated social media strategy.
  • Drive in-house post promotion across all social media platforms and deliver superior customer service, ensuring customer enquiries and complaints are handled effectively and swiftly.
  • Assess and improve performance across all social media channels using effective benchmarks.
  • Stay informed about trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to create social media-specific partner benefits.

Content Creation and Strategy

  • Direct video and photographic content creation, producing engaging and revenue-generating content to support sales and communication campaigns.
  • Liaise with artists and management for content planning and production, working closely with the broader communications team.
  • Collaborate with freelance content creators and external partners to plan, produce, and distribute diverse content, including videos, podcasts, and long-form content.
  • Develop and implement effective content and social media strategies, contributing to wider communications and digital strategies.
  • Manage rights and licensing for the companyl or third-party owned content and oversee organisational content approval and review process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners for effective content distribution and measure, analyse, and report on the impact of all digital content.

Performance Evaluation and General Management

  • Oversee social media and content performance monitoring and reporting, using appropriate analytics and KPIs.
  • Analyse data to share insights and refresh strategies for improving the online audience experience.
  • Work with various departments to deliver benefits and meet KPIs for stakeholders, sponsors, supporters, and partners.
  • Recruit and manage temporary roles in the communications team as well as freelance creatives, videographers, and photographers.
  • Advocate for accessibility across all content and social media platforms and manage content and social-specific budgets.
  • Represent the businesses core brand values and personality in all areas of work and undertake any other reasonable duties.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms and understanding of current trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
  • Experience in content planning, production and distribution, including video, photographic, and long-form content.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with experience in implementing effective content and social media strategies.
  • Ability to analyse data, interpret insights, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
  • Experience in managing rights and licensing for content usage and familiarity with content approval and review processes.
  • Ability to manage and monitor budgets, recruit and manage teams and freelance creatives.
  • Strong advocacy for accessibility and representation of brand values in all areas of work.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
