Reports to: Residential Life Manager

1. The Company Centurion Corporation Limited owns, develops and manages quality, specialised accommodation assets globally, including purpose-built workers accommodation assets in Singapore and Malaysia, and purpose-built student accommodation assets in Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom (“UK”), the United States (“US”) and South Korea. Our student accommodation business is branded as dwell Student Living and we currently manage 21 PBSAs globally. The Group’s 10 assets in the UK are located in the established education precincts of Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol and Nottingham which provide easy access to the cities’ main university campuses and the city centres.

In the UK we are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Social Media Executive to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our online presence. If you are a creative, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy individual with a passion for social media, this role is perfect for you!

Interviews for the role will be commencing from the 9th October.

As a Social Media Executive, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engage our audience, and drive business growth. You will work closely with the Residential Life department and marketing team to create compelling content, monitor social media trends, and interact with our community to enhance our online presence. This is the ideal role for someone who is naturally outgoing, self-motivated, possesses strong communication skills and enjoys a wide variety of work experiences and challenges and is happy to take on extra responsibility when needed. Creativity is something which should come naturally to you and there will be opportunities to demonstrate your design skills in creating engaging video content and images, whether through blog content creation or social graphics designed to be posted throughout our social media platforms. Ideally, you will also be able to use Canva and Adobe CC Suite. We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge of what is happening in the student world and can help to form a strong community across all sites. You will be working closely on the digital and social media strategy as well as working to drive the sense of community and brand growth. This position will require occasional weekend/evening work when running events where content is required to be filmed.

3. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, schedule and publish high quality content in a timely manner and grow our social media presence
  • Curate relevant and engaging content from various sources to share with our audience.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Life Manager to create and execute a social media strategy that aligns with company goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implement innovative ways to increase brand visibility and engagement.
  • Interact with our social media community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with our followers and advocate for the brand.
  • Monitor social media performance metrics and generate regular reports to assess the effectiveness of our campaigns.
  • Use data insights to refine strategies and improve social media presence.
  • Plan and execute social media advertising campaigns to reach specific target audiences.
  • Present and report on student engagement ideas, initiatives and upcoming events
  • Work to agreed targets and objectives set by the group
  • Support the sales and marketing team to come up with new initiatives to help drive re booker sales within our halls.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging social media platforms, and best practices.

4. Requirements

CRITERIA

ESSENTIAL

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Demonstrable understanding of the student journey/culture
  • Knowledge of current themes affecting students in the Further Education / Higher Education sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in using and managing social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok.
  • Experience of managing multiple social media platforms simultaneously
  • Be able to work closely with our students to promote student engagement
  • Committed, positive, outgoing and approachable with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other departments when required for example at events or support during busy periods of the academic year.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing social media trends and algorithms.

DESIRABLE

  • Degree in Marketing or Social Media
  • Proofreading and editing skills
  • Computer Software Proficient ie Adobe/Canva
  • Proficiency in social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, scheduling software, and advertising platforms
  • Experience in digital advertising
  • Ability to construct and maintain databases
  • A flexible approach to working combined with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high standard of professionalism
