Summary
Historic England are excited to be seeking a Social Media Content Assistant Apprentice. This is rare exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship, working in the dynamic and forward thinking Content and Marketing team.
As a key member of the Historic England Content team, you will assist with the growth, engagement and retention of our audiences, helping to convert them into advocates for Historic England and the historic environment. You will help to inspire with relevant content and contribute to expression of the brand’s values and personality across websites, social media channels, email, video and content marketing.
The Social Media Content Assistant Apprentice is offered as an 18 month Fixed Term Contract based in Swindon.
What you will be doing
You will be working towards completion of the Level 3 Content Creator Apprenticeship over the course of 18 months. 80% of your time will be spent in the workplace, and 20% of your time will be spent “off the job”, completing a training programme specially designed for your apprenticeship, delivered with our training partner.
At work (80% of your time) the experience you will gain on the job will include but not be limited to:
- Assisting the Content Team in the delivery of content and marketing plans, in order to increase reach and influence and achieve our communication objectives
- Research of topics for content, video, email and social media plans across Historic England’s communications channels
- Working with Content team colleagues to help ensure the effective the delivery and monitoring of campaigns, programmes and projects
- Creating and updating web pages to promote Historic England projects
- Communicating professionally to customers and colleagues
- Researching pictures and facts for content production and promotion
- Gathering and presenting data in useful, clear formats to inform decisions
What will you learn
Your training elements will include a specially designed programme of taught and hands-on experience that will include social media marketing, search engine optimisation, branded content and channel management and web and social media analytics providing you with skills and knowledge you can apply at work, and allow you to develop a range of professional skills that will develop your overall career development.
You will be supervised by a line manager and assisted by a variety of staff including your wider team, a personal mentor and our dedicated Early Careers team. You will also have regular contact with other apprentices to share your experiences with each other through your apprenticeship at Historic England.
What we are looking for:
- You are well-organised with excellent attention to detail.
- A great team worker with the ability to get along easily with others.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- You can demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You are curious and have a desire to continuously learn.
