Job description
From multi-award-winning TV series narrated by David Attenborough, such as Planet Earth III and Blue Planet II, to digital-first series, this job will be a fundamental supporting role in the delivery of global digital marketing campaigns for BBC Earth and BBC Earth Lab.
You will be devising promotional plans on social media, writing punchy copy, crafting titles for social posts, choosing imagery, and helping to curate an insights-driven social strategy for our Factual digital channels.
- Develop social media publishing plans for marketing campaigns and strategic projects on organisational tools such as Monday.com
- Schedule and write copy for social posts using tools such as Sprinklr, YouTube Studio and Meta Business Suite
- Write creative briefs for new commissions for online content with the support of the Social Media Managers (including video, web articles and quizzes)
- Identify new creative ideas for campaigns and tentpole days (e.g. World Panda Day) to further the reach of our content
- Research and reach out to photographers and filmmakers to celebrate UGC content on our digital channels
- Contribute towards the development of ideas for social media platforms
- Oversee management of communities and conversations on social in line with the agreed marketing strategy and brand tone of voice
- Analyse digital performance data and derive insights for weekly performance meetings, leading on revenue reporting
- Manage the video pipeline of content for YouTube and Facebook, looking into archive availability and rights
- Identify influencer and digital publisher partnership opportunities for our Factual brands
- Ensure all material and activity complies with the relevant BBC Studios guidelines and procedures and ensure adherence to escalation and issue management procedures as required.
- Ideally has social media experience within a TV, media or digital publisher brand
- Must be an excellent copywriter with proven copywriting experience; able to switch copy to adapt to a specific tone of voice
- Experience of creating social media campaign plans across multiple social and digital platforms (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Website, CRM) using key organisational tools such as Monday.com
- Passion for the natural world, science and conservation
- Ideally would have knowledge of website CMS systems and be familiar with how the backend of websites operate
- Digital expert: up to date with the latest platform trends, with key insight into how to engage with digital audiences, with a particular focus on U35s
- Excellent eye for imagery and attention to detail
- Organised, proactive, and actively takes initiative
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadline
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholder relationships and keeping in regular communication with a wide variety of teams
- An ability to work at pace in a fast-paced media environment
- Experience of data analytics tools and campaign measurement tools such as Social Emplify
- Knowledge and use of content creation tools (Photoshop/Premiere Pro etc)
- Basic video editing skills to create video cutdowns for social media platforms
