African Movie Channel is a fast-paced organisation, and the Channels and Social Media Assistant will be required to support the Head Of Channels and Social Media Manager in the day-to-day running of our TV channels and social media channels respectively, while managing content and daily needs of the business.

This role is an exciting and varied opportunity and would suit a candidate with an interest in scheduling within the broadcast environment and television content management and acquisition.

Job specifications/responsibilities

• Acting as the primary day-to-day contact for channels’ administration
• Assist in the development of social media strategies and marketing campaigns, including collaborating with media partners on campaigns
• Updating and maintaining of content library and programme database
• Research and implementing all forms of marketing to increase brand recognition
• Scheduling and maintaining promotions, commercials, and other interstitial items
• Maintaining and updating AMC official documents
• Assisting with movies and series content licensing and acquisition
• Quality analysis of content acquired
• Working closely with editors to ensure company quality compliance
• Assist with the day-to-day management of all social media channels, including creating & scheduling engaging content & captions on Sendible app
• Assist in the creation of press releases, relevant blog posts and social media campaigns

Person specifications

• Good admin background
• Strong data entry and administration skills
• Experience in Microsoft Word & Excel
• Willing to learn new technology and systems
• Excellent verbal, written communication and copywriting skills
• Structured, creatively-minded with a keen eye for accuracy & methodical mindset
• Strong understanding of marketing
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work across multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances
• Proactive approach and enthusiastic team player
• UK resident
