British GQ are looking for a talented and experienced editor to join its award-winning team.
The role will include editing premium content, both long and short form, from assembly through to final delivery (including grading, sound-mixing and versioning).
Working closely with our central video team and GQ video producers, the ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Adobe Premiere or Resolve and have exceptional editing and motion graphics skills, as well as confidently sound mix and grade, usually under tight deadlines.
Experience working to specs and brand guidelines for Tiktok, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram is essential.
The candidate will occasionally be required to contribute to the creative process ahead of a shoot, as well as tailor the editing style to the specific content.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Edit enticing, original and high-quality original video content across multiple platforms. Creating compelling stories
- Create bespoke assets that show knowledge of and a consideration for social media audiences - including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
- Manage multiple edits and projects at the same time
- Contribute innovative creative concepts across a broad range of video content
- Help to develop and ensure the style, tone and quality of Vogue/GQ video content.
- Responsible for the organisation, ingest, transcoding, backup, archival, QC and documentation of all footage across a busy post production team
- Research and source the best music tracks and sound effects for a given project, using a production music database
- Work flexibly and reactively to a high volume video workflow
- Help to create, update and develop all graphic assets for video content
- Ensure all deadlines are met throughout the post production process and deliver final assets on time
- Share knowledge and be a champion for innovative video within an editorial team working with multiple different mediums.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience within the fashion, editorial or related content industry
- High-level knowledge and experience editing both short and long form content on Adobe Premiere or Davinci resolve.
- Editing specifically for social media
- Experienced in data wrangling, ingest settings, transcoding, video codecs and formats
- Knowledge of video archival through media asset management systems
- Upkeeping and organising a central edit server
- Colour correction and colour grading – DaVinci Resolve
- Motion graphics
- Sound mixing
Required Software Knowledge:
- Adobe Creative Suite - with particular high-level knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Audition, Photoshop and Media Encoder.
