The Mechanical Project Engineer plays a critical role in driving forward and completing projects that optimize our manufacturing facility and ensure continued operational efficiency, while always maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes with a proven background of managing projects that drive improvement and cost savings. Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute facility improvement projects, including equipment upgrades, process enhancements, and infrastructure modifications, from planning to implementation, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, maintenance, and environmental health and safety, to identify facility and production line requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Oversee the design, layout, and optimization of manufacturing projects to ensure efficient workflows, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to procure equipment and services necessary for project completion.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure new equipment or equipment modifications adhere to preventive maintenance programs.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Be present on the production floor and throughout the facility to identify areas for improvement and implement project plans and actions as necessary.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing teams to resolve facility-related issues and assist in optimizing operational processes through improvement projects.
  • Develop and deliver presentations with project updates to all levels of the organization.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in manufacturing and facilities engineering and incorporate relevant advancements into infrastructure and maintenance strategies.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required; 5 years preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing projects.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams successfully and respectfully.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and facility design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, specifically AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to facility design, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and/or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of facilities equipment, such as chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and HVAC systems, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of rubber and/or polymer processing including mixing, extrusion, curing, and foaming is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP project/asset management module is preferred.
  • Ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment.
  • Can work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
The expected compensation range for this role is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
