Through the unique coaching methods of Liverpool FC, players will learn to improve technical and tactical aspects of their game while learning key life skills centered on the four values of the Liverpool way: Ambition, Commitment, Dignity and Unity.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design and deliver progressive sessions to the club’s boys and girls PCA players.
- Ensure sessions are continually challenging in order to facilitate individual player development
- Deliver all match day preparations, including team selections, warm ups and substitute decisions in accordance with LFC IA program guidelines.
- Lead coaching sessions throughout all LFC IA and Junior & Mini Reds clinics and camps.
- Coach within LFC IA Centre of Excellence and All Star Programs.
- Deliver After School & school engagement programs and other such community outreach.
- Provide coach mentoring to volunteer coaches.
- Provide twice weekly email to all teams:
- Provide player analysis twice through season
- Identify and recruit talented players at lower age levels.
- Build teams capable of competing at younger divisions in competitive club soccer.
- Remain a complete professional in representing LFC IA during tournaments, practices and games
- Complete administrative, marketing and operational tasks across all programs.This may include phone calls and responding to parental questions.
- Work as part of a team to organise equipment, apparel & uniforms as part of pre-program and post program preparations.
- Set up, manage and tear down practice and game day field(s).
- Attend regular meetings at the office.
Role of an LFC IA coach:
- Set high standards of professionalism and demonstrate a high standard of conduct, thus providing a good role model for young players.
- Supervise and be responsible for a group of young players at all times during training and game days, ensuring the safety of all as your first priority.
- Demonstrate both management and communication skills to players, parents, team managers and LFC IA colleagues.
- Set clear expectations to parents on appropriate sideline behaviour before, during and after games that upholds the reputation of LFC IA as a youth sports organisation and you as an individual.
- Promote LFC IA and our programs at all times.
- Be punctual at all times.
- Wear LFC IA provided coaching gear for all LFC IA events.
- Adhere to LFC IA coaching equipment standards and designated colours
- Be willing to assist when necessary, in programs outside the current designated program.
Terms and Conditions:
- Coaching placement/role will start February 20th 2024. Non US based coaches will be paid by YES/CAS who will also handle successful applicants visa process
- Access to a vehicle and shared room in a house share (utilities paid by coach) is provided/optional for all seasonal staff
- Coach must have a valid driver's license on file with LFC IA once a position is accepted
- Any visa and flight to the US is not included in any of the coaching fees, it is the individual’s responsibility to apply, organize and pay for these expenses.
- Prior to entry into the US, each member of coaching staff is required to have obtained their own personal medical insurance.
- Coaches, on immediate arrival, and prior to coaching, must be in compliance with US Club Soccer coaching requirements which includes obtaining an online coaching license, undertaking livescan (fingerprinting) and completing required safeguarding courses.
- Coaches will also be required to adhere to, and sign, a code of conduct.
- Applicants must hold a valid driver license and be a recent graduate (within 12 months) or currently studying and, for example, be in a gap year
