Job title: SME Insurance Underwriter (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)
Location: Cardiff or Leeds, Hybrid
Salary: £21,500 to £26,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package and CII study support

Our team members help our broker partners provide insurance solutions to small and medium sized businesses who are the backbone of the UK economy, providing products and services we all use in our everyday lives. We are currently expanding our team and are looking for people with some level of Insurance knowledge and background to join a highly successful team of Underwriters who are passionate about our customers; so much so it drives every decision and action we take! We like to provide innovative, creative propositions to suit our customer’s needs and we pride ourselves on going above and beyond. Why? As an SME Insurance Underwriter, you’ll be analysing and underwriting new and held business in the main, so it’s important that you are great at communicating and have a built-in passion for doing the right thing for our customers.
We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.

So what will you be doing?
Well, you can expect no two days to be the same, you’ll be working with your team and reporting into the Team Manager as well as interacting with brokers and intermediaries daily via live chat, phone calls and our trading platform.
We need you to provide a standout service experience for customers and stakeholders and be responsible for delivering quality and timely solutions for them. This means taking ownership of own workload and supporting colleagues to deliver our collective workload -it is all about being a team player!

So what are we looking for?
Ideally you will have some knowledge or understanding of Underwriting but what we really need are your strengths and energy to come into play.
We will help you to extend your knowledge of the group risk market and products, as well as all the technical bits but you’ll already be a strong communicator who is happy making a decision.
We’d like you to be happy to challenge processes and decisions using your attention to detail. You’ll naturally adapt your style to different workloads and pressures and be able to think on your feet. Finally, organisation and the ability to prioritise is really key, the customer is always foremost on our minds!
