Job description
Main Purpose of the role:
To manage site works and site resources as delegated by the Project Manager or Construction Manager
Demonstrate compliance to the Sellafield Contractors Standards and implement any appointments and training which must be undertaken relevant to the subject covered e.g. SCS 001 covers Nuclear Safety training requirements.
Compliance to Sellafield audit checks.
Management of the Industrial Relations e.g. NAECI / CIJC workforce
Responsible for the safety performance, holding regular safety meetings with the workforce.
Carry out the role of building controller in support of Site Emergency arrangements.
Ensure workforce training and SQEP arrangements are managed and that Nuvia have a SQEP workforce in place.
Produce the Monthly Business Report including financial status.
Support to the Business Development and tenders’ team for new work opportunities.
Lead the investigation, reporting and recording of events and ensuring that learning is implemented.
To take ownership of the Programme of Work
To set up the site infrastructure in accordance with company standard
To manage and coordinate all site resources including Subcontractors and Nuvia labour on site to ensure safety, quality and time constraints are met.
To Identify and Manage all areas of Change on the site
To be the focal point of the site works as they are implemented on site
Comply with Nuvia standards for decommissioning and construction works
Position in the organisation:
Is the primary point of contact for on-site communications where authorised by the Client or Nuvia Business Manager, PM/CnM.
Directly manages the site teams, comprising both Nuvia personnel and subcontractor resources in implementing the site works and Health and Safety.
Communicates effectively with all site stakeholders, especially client representatives
Key Accountabilities:
Set up site infrastructure to enable the start of works
Familiar with all contract documents particularly the drawings and specification to ensure the full scope of work is achieved.
To manage a team of supervisors and engineers in progressing the site works
Communicates effectively to all parties supervising and undertaking the works
Directs a team of supervisors and engineers in the implementation of the works
Sets up safe systems of work on site and approves all SSOW documents drafted by Nuvia and Subcontractors, involving Safety representatives in this process
Arranges for Drafts reports for inclusion in project manager reports
Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more-diverse project
Prepares, or directs preparation and modification of, reports, specifications, drawings, plans, schedules, environmental impact studies etc.
Follow company QMS standards and procedures while delivering projects and ensure others follow them in the production of all deliverables
Ensure coordination with and between all engineering and related disciplines to produce integrated engineering deliverables
Safe delivery of project scope and compliance with all SHE requirements
Communicate professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
Ensure project changes are properly recorded by the application of company change control procedure
