Brief Description
What will you be doing?
This role can be based in Milton Keynes or Birmingham. Salary is £30,000 raising to £35,000 dependant on experience.
The purpose of this role is to carry out work as directed contributing to the management of engineering assets to deliver Region and Route goals. Gain experience in all aspects of managing activities consistent with meeting requirements for appropriate professional qualifications and capability to undertake senior engineering roles within Network Rail.
The successful candidate will be working with the Track Alignment Team, responsible for the asset management of the Absolute Track Geometry (ATG) survey control data and Through Alignment Designs (TAD) for the West Coast Mainline and Managed Track Position within the region.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities
1. Create and monitor SharePoint page design using Power-Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
2. Prepare the full engineering data package required for commencement of the track survey and design, and participate in answering queries as needed.
3. Carry out Track Maintenance design checks of all relevant aspects of the proposal, in association with engineers of other disciplines such as gauging and overhead-line (OHL).
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to be/ to have:
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in relevant engineering discipline
- Fully conversant with using SharePoint Power Apps
- Conversant in Excel and VBA programming
- Experience in using Bentley Rail Track (BRT) / Power Rail Track (PRT)
We would also like but it isnt crucial to be/to have:
- Member of a relevant professional institution
- A working knowledge of rail engineering; relevant successful experience working in the principal discipline and an adequate understanding of all other related disciplines.

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.
Salary: Band 5, salary is £30,000 raising to £35,000 dependant on experience.
