We have been in the UK since 1965 and we are excited to advertise a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to join our great Snap-on team in a Warehouse environment.
We are looking for pepole centred Site Manager who will take ownership of the day to day running of the Warehouse Operations. The Site Manager will hold full site responsibility for Goods Inwards, Goods Outwards, People Management, training, Inventory accuracy, planning and scheduling of the build process, resource planning and controlling costs such as absence, overtime, and agency.
They will ensure that the operation is managed effectively and efficiently using data to ensure KPI’s are measured and maintained. Coaching & developing the warehouse team and promoting a change culture which drives operational efficiency. Operating on a ‘safety first’ principle, all warehouse activities will be carried out in line with current Health & Safety legislation.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Health & Safety of all warehouse colleagues using a ‘safety first’ Yellow Ticket Process.
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Operations Manager, provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and high standards of work practices throughout the team, whilst ensuring a ‘great place to work’ philosophy.
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Distribution Manager, support with the on-going motivation and engagement of staff including daily team briefs and monthly ‘1-2-1’ individual performance reviews.
- Support with the planning and coordinate the allocation of labour within the shift to meet operational deadlines. Support with the control of overtime costs, non-productive hours, holiday and absence.
- Support with the development of SOPs which drive operational efficiency, communicating and implementing change as directed. * Continually promote the highest possible standards of customer service.
- Maintain the highest possible standard of hygiene and housekeeping in accordance with company standards including 6S.
- Ensure all security related procedures are consistently maintained in relation to inventory and the physical security of colleagues whilst at the distribution centre.
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous full site responsibility in a distribution environment (4 wall experience or senior shift managers) and can demonstrate and provide examples of where they have used core competencies to coach and develop colleagues.
- Has the ability to report and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Possesses strong leadership skills and is methodical in their approach.
- Is an excellent communicator, both written and oral.
- Is competent in IT (Email, Word, and Excel).
- Embraces change and is confident in promoting change management.
- Has the ability to coach and mentor colleagues with a view to support with overall development.
- Has the ability to prioritise workload, cope with deadlines and uses initiative in a variety of situations.
- Has an organised and methodical approach to administrative duties.
- Pays attention to detail and can interpret data and system reports.
