Job description
We are currently recruiting for a site-based steelwork / metalwork erector, working on James Engineering’s projects spanning the entire UK.
James Engineering is a family run business specialising in the design, fabrication & installation of secondary steelwork/retro fit works, staircases complete with handrail/balustrade, mezzanine floors, chimneys, ducting and flue support structures to name a few.
Responsibility and Duties:
- Experience in marking out and installing steelwork and metalwork projects of varying complexities from supplied drawings.
- Experience working with mechanical lifting aids for offloading and installation (Cranes, Material Lifters, A Frames & Chain Blocks etc.)
- Ability to work as part of a team essential.
- Ability to work safely under the projects supplied method and risk assessment.
- Ability to listen to instructions and carry out work in the way requested
- In date CSCS / CPCS qualification essential
- Other competency cards / qualifications desirable (PASMA, IPAF etc.)
- Previous welding qualifications (MMA / MAG) desirable.
- Some shop floor fabrication works maybe required between projects so experience working in engineering shop floor desirable.
- Full UK driving license and local to James Engineering Offices (Alfreton, Derbyshire) desirable.
- An excellent work ethic and attitude
Lodging Away from home & overtime may be required to keep pace with our full order book and clients project programmes. Pay is negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
