Job description
Site Maintenance Operatives (Carpentry bias)
£17.69/hr - 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 08.00-16.00
Farnham Road Hospital is a specialist mental health hospital, providing round-the-clock support to adults and older adults experiencing acute mental ill-health as well as housing community mental health and day services.
Are you an experienced maintenance engineer or handyperson with a woodworking bias? Perhaps you completed your woodworking/carpentry apprenticeship, and you can turn your hand to some plumbing or mechanical repairs? Maybe you’ve always wanted to apply your trade in the NHS but never known the best way to go about joining?
If so, then look no further as Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust wants to hear from you.
We require a Site Maintenance Operative to be based at Farnham Road Hospital in Guildford to be the first port of call upon issues relating to the upkeep of the Estate, Facilities and Properties that make up the hospital. We need a semi-skilled tradesperson to perform tasks ranging from site carpentry and joinery to repairs of hard fittings and planned preventative maintenance of scheduled items or premises.
Experience
· If you are a time-served maintenance operative with an apprenticeship in site carpentry or woodworking, then you are the ideal candidate for us.
· No formal qualifications are specified and qualification through hands-on experience is valid for application, although anyone who has achieved an NVQ Level 2 or above in carpentry/joinery would be preferred (but not essential).
· Must be able to turn their hand to repairs of any description and work as part of an effective team of onsite maintenance staff.
