Main duties of the job
The current outpatient Child & Adolescent Eating Disorders Service has developed a unique and innovative Intensive Service. The Intensive Service currently offers the following services for young people diagnosed with an eating disorder and their families/carers:
- outpatient and day patient treatment;
- facilitation / support for paediatric inpatient treatment for medical stabilisation and psychiatric emergencies;
- outreach, and in-reach treatment.
The Intensive Service utilises both face-to-face and remote working to offer a range of group, individual, and family-based therapies, as well as offering time to enable the young person to continue their education. The Intensive Service provides a unique opportunity to be involved in this developing modality of treatment, which provides seamless care for patients and their families/carers. The Intensive Service aims to promote faster recovery, reduce relapse rates, and avoid protracted Tier 4 residential admissions.
The post holder will provide clinical expertise and professional leadership with specific emphasis on eating disorders, and also contribute to the operational management and strategic development of the Intensive Service.
