Shopper Activation Manager
Location: Gatwick (Hybrid working – approx. 2 flexible days a week in the office)

Position Summary
Our Nestlé Coffee team are recruiting for a Shopper Activation Manager to join the team, reporting into the Shopper Marketing Lead. This is an exciting and pivotal role in the team that will see you develop and manage our shopper strategies ensuring flawless execution of our plans to deliver on our category, customer and brand goals, in partnership with one of the Major Multiples. We are looking for an experienced commercial individual, ideally with previous shopper experience who has the ability to turn insight into action that drives growth across our brands, both instore and online.
You will be responsible for developing and deploying tailored shopper strategies at a customer level by understanding shopper behaviour and motivations to create a rewarding brand experience that trigger purchases. You will also:
- Create insight led annual shopper strategy and execute the customer activation calendar based on shopper insights, detailing shopper and category activations by channel, customer and brand
- Develop detailed understanding of retailer’s shoppers and use this experience to proactively identify opportunities to align with customer events and strategies and to deliver better shopper experiences
- Gain alignment and share the activity calendar with wider teams internally and engage, inspire and build value added relationships with retailers– sell the benefits of the investment and the role it plays to convert and drive share gains over time
- Manage all bespoke shopper marketing activity in chosen retailers leading the end to end briefing process, shopper message development and ensure it fits with brand category objectives
- Co-ordinate and consult with brand teams as segment champion for shopper team and lead shopper inputs into the brand planning process
- Lead the creation of customer facing sales tools and trade communication for all channel/field sales teams to deliver an inspiration customer sell of annual and individual activities
- Set shopper metric KPI by event and lead post evaluation of activation, identifying impact against shopper objective and using key learnings to adapt and optimise plans
- Lead the identification of future innovation with retailer media agencies bringing best practices and test and learn opportunities across key customers; to include digital activations (on & offsite)
- Proactively manage external relationships with agencies and retailers to maximise the partnership
What will make you successful?
To be successful you’ll already have some fantastic commercial experience under your belt, ideally with proven experience of delivering in a shopper role previously. If you have FMCG experience this would also be desirable. You will be passionate, tenacious; results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for our Nestlé Coffee brands, you will have commercial capability and have experience of influencing across all levels internally and externally, ideally within a matrix structure. It’s a given that you will know the importance of being able to flex your style whilst working in an environment that can be, at times, ambiguous.
