Job description
Location: Wollaton, Nottinghamshire
The opportunity:
Our shop managers are not standard retail managers, they are superheroes who face different challenges every moment of the day, its hard work and can be physically demanding, but we all work to the same purpose which is growing the service that we can offer. Our shops are the window to our charity, and are the first point of contact for many members of the public. Below are just some of the activities you will complete in your role with us:
- Managing every aspect of your shop: This will include using innovative techniques to increase stock generation, pricing, reviewing suitability of incoming donations and anything else required to ensure the day to day operational success of the shop.
- Leading your team: You will lead, inspire and engage with a multi-disciplined team of both paid employees and volunteers. Our people are the key to our success, you will grow them with us.
- Business Development: We think big, and we like our people to do the same. You will have targets to ensure we grow. You will play an active part in the community and engage with our Fundraising Coordinators so that we become everyone’s first choice when fundraising or donating
- Working in collaboration with other teams, such as our marketing, reuse and fundraising teams.
What you will bring:
Our best people are strongly aligned to our values, Courage, Compassion and Creativity. These are at the heart of everything we do. Ideally you will have had some experience working in the retail or charity sector to give you an initial understanding of the sector we operate in. However, if you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, are target driven and can inspire a team we also want to hear from you. Please send us your CV and covering letter and we will be in touch.
Benefits
We can offer you above average holiday entitlement, a benefits platform to make your money go further and an organisation where you can thrive. We value a home / work life balance, so we ensure you will be given a number of Saturdays off throughout the year. You’ll also be working in a role where you know that the money you raise will help us to continue saving lives.
Once you press apply you will be invited to complete some short assessments.
The role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
