A new opportunity has become available at Swift Precision Ltd, as we are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker/Welder to join our team.

Swift Precision provides components through to assembly of specialist low volume prototype and development to high volume manufacturing and assembly solutions. We specialise in providing precision sheet metal work and machined components to Aerospace, Instrumentation, Leisure, Scientific, Oil & Gas, Defence, Nuclear, Automotive and other domestic and European markets.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment
- Set and operate various fabrication machines such as punch press, bench press, counter sink drills, folding machines etc
- Shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating
- Use of TIG/MIG welding equipment
- Soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts
- Inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces
- Ability to read engineering drawings and to work to tight tolerances
- Conduct safe working practices in an engineering environment
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate would have 5 years’ experience in sheet metal work/welding and be familiar with the engineering/manufacturing industry. Experience welding metal products to aerospace specifications would also be advantageous.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Competently and safely operate without supervision
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Competently and safely operate TIG/MIG welding equipment
- Experience as a sheet metal worker or time served metal apprenticeship
The Position:
This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week (with early finish on Fridays!). Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
