An opportunity is available for two Temporary Records Assistants within the Streetworks Team based at Pegasus for a period of up to 12 months, subject to review.
You will be providing a vital clerical and administrative support service to National Grid Electricity Distribution business and will be involved in various key activities, predominantly for Street Works however could also include work in the following areas - Street Lighting, New Supplies, Data Network Errors, IT Data Updating, Contact Centre Support and stopping up orders.
You will need to have at least 4 GCSEs OR equivalent in order to apply.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
- Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant training is complete.
If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities- Issuing Street Works Notices & Permits.
- Dealing with Local Authorities regarding any aspect of Street Works.
- Dealing direct with Contractors both verbally and by written instruction.
- Dealing with all Street Works defects.
- Clearing invoices relating to Street Works Activities.
- Invoicing contractors relating to any Street Works Activity.
- Preparing monthly statistics.
- Providing any other information as may relate to Street Works.
- Representing the section at local HAUC meetings.
- Assisting I.R. with future system development needs – catering for TMA and permitting schemes.
- Assisting with training Network services on new legislation and system changes.
You should be customer focused, self motivated and have excellent verbal and written communication skills which will be required when dealing with both internal and external contacts.
You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a small team, using your own initiative and representing the company positively at all times.
