Job description
JOB PURPOSE:
Operate and program CNC routers to produce sheet metal work components to for assemblies & welded assemblies to AS9100 and/or equivalent quality standard. Follow procedures, read engineering drawings / lofts and produce work to a defined schedule.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Operate and program CNC routers (3 axis)
- Operate Flo-Jet water jet profiler (2 axis)
- Develop parts from drawings and to produce detailed parts.
- Use hand tools for sheet cutting, shaping, dressing and shaping formed blanks.
- Lay out, measure, and mark materials in line with drawings or templates using scribes, dividers, squares, rules and calculators.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines including guillotine and band saws.
- Use engineering measuring equipment to check dimensions are in line with drawing requirements.
- Attend and participate in daily stand-up meetings (SQDCP).
- Adhere to all health and safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous experience knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Experience using 3 axis CNC routers (V Carve Pro and AlphaCam preferred)
- Experience using 5 axis CNC routers highly desirable
- Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and aerospace specifications
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time
- Problem analysis and decision making
