Sewing Machinist & Finisher
An exciting opportunity is available to join a busy production team as a Sewing Machinist in the fast paced Exhibition Display industry. We are looking for a meticulous Sewing Machine Operator / Machinist with extraordinary attention to detail and production quality skills.
Your role as a Sewing Machinist is to sew and finish large format, custom printed Dye-Sublimated fabric using Industrial machines. Fabric to include stretch fabric, flag knit and display polyester with production processes of Over Locking, Hemming, Straight Stitch and sewing in Zippers, Velcro, Keder (SEG) and flag elastic, all to strict patterns and templates.
Main Duties to Include:
· Sewing & Finishing all or part of a Custom Printed Fabric Display.
· Following instructions for each sewing job and pattern size.
· Using a range of sewing machines, such as over lockers, hemmers and bar tackers, to carry out a range of tasks and produce different finishes.
· Quality checking that a finished article matches the pattern instructions.
· Achieving quality standards and production output deadlines.
· Oiling, cleaning, and maintaining the machines and work area.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
Experience of handling and executing machining work in an industrial sewing setting advantageous.
The ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Work accurately and keep up with production demand.
Experience working with different types of fabric.
Excellent eye for detail and take real pride in your work.
Adhere to strict quality and finishing standards.
Work closely with colleagues and supervisors.
Ability to organise and manage workflow.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Must be flexible and committed to doing anything it takes to exceed customer expectations.

Based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough. Full time position, Monday to Friday. Business hours. Can be flexible for the right candidate. Additional hours may be required during busy periods and you must be prepared to be flexible.
