Vacancies for sessional tutors with Learn Harrow January 2023 starts
We are looking for qualified, enthusiastic, and flexible tutors to deliver part-time courses as listed below. The posts offer excellent progression opportunities and a chance to work with a brilliant and supportive team.
We are looking for tutors who can teach:
ESOL and Functional Skills English and Maths
- Non – accredited Pre-Entry/Beginner ESOL classes
- Accredited ESOL courses from Entry 1 to Level 1
- Accredited Functional Skills courses from Entry 1 to Level 2
Digital Skills & Business Admin
- Entry 3 Level 1 Essential Digital Skills
- Level 2 - 3 IT User Skills/ ITQ
- Levels 2- 3 in Business Administration
Vocational Skills (Assessors & tutors)
- Level 1 – 3 in Health and Social Care/Adult Care
- Entry 3 – Level 3 Early Years Education (Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, Level 3 Early Years Educator and Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning)
Duties
- Carry out initial and diagnostics assessments.
- Deliver group-based accredited and non-accredited courses
- Maintain attendance registers, records of progress and ensure learners are enrolled on the right levels
- Create teaching and learning materials and resources
- Differentiate levels and create individualised resources for learners
- Teach blended learning courses and online classes through Google Classroom
- Help learners improve their employability skills through continuous assessment, marking and examinations.
- Check and assess learners’ work and provide feedback
- Engage in analysis data and target setting to raise standards of retention and achievement.
- To work within the Learn Harrow Quality framework ensuring that services delivered meet the standards required of the contract.
- To maintain effective and efficient administrative procedures as required
ESSENTIAL
- Must have a professional teaching qualification as appropriate for the subject taught such as Award in Education and Training, PGCE or CELTA for ESOL.
- Must have relevant qualification from industry sector and/or sector experience (Digital Skills & Vocational)
- A1 Assessor (desirable for Digital Skills & Vocational)
- Level 4 Internal Quality Assurer (desirable)
- Experienced in a range of IT skills, including advanced in MS Office and E-Learning platforms
- Enhanced DBS
Experience:
- Experience of teaching accredited courses, assessing and marking portfolios and assessments, end of course exams and assignments
- Experience of undergoing an Ofsted observation as well as internal and other external observations.
- Experience working with disadvantaged people and those with health problems and unemployed people (desirable)
- Experience of teaching individuals of all diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience of implementing Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values in line with the course content.
Skills:
- Adaptable and flexibility, this is an essential requirement for the role.
- Good interpersonal, communication, listening and presentation skills.
- Strong coaching and teaching ability.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of online learning platforms
- IT working knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of internal Quality Assurance processes.
